Yes, legal considerations may include visa requirements. In order to complete an internship in Australia or New Zealand, interns need to be eligible for a visa. The Working Holiday Visa (WHV) is a common visa option for eligible internationals, such as the subclass 417 in Australia. This visa allows individuals to work and travel in the country for a specified period, making it suitable for internships and gaining practical experience.
The typical process begins with advertising the internship position, followed by screening applications and conducting interviews with candidates who meet your internship criteria. We then present the candidate(s) whom we consider the most fitting for your position, providing their CV and a summary of the student’s profile via email. The final step involves coordinating the signing of the internship agreement once you have chosen your preferred candidate.
While paying interns is not mandatory in Australia and New Zealand, it is highly encouraged. Providing an allowance not only attracts top talent but also contributes to interns feeling more appreciated. This financial support helps cover living expenses throughout their internship, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds can apply, not just those with the means to afford it.
Ensuring effective communication with applicants is our top priority throughout the recruitment process. Thus, we kindly request your prompt response to candidate applications. Additionally, we anticipate specific details about the internship and information concerning the intern's arrival at your company. Providing this crucial information is essential for facilitating a satisfactory and expedient recruitment process for both parties.
Your responsibilities regarding the intern are specified in the contract provided by the student's university. These include designating a company supervisor to guide and support the intern, ensuring adherence to approved internship missions and conditions, promptly reporting any issues that may arise during the internship, and providing a conducive work environment with necessary materials. Additionally, it is crucial to sign and execute internship agreements for the duration specified by the university.
Once you have selected an intern, we will send you the internship agreement supplied by the intern’s school. You will have to sign the document and return it to us. Please do not send back directly the internship agreement to the interns, as they are required to pay our fees for the service before receiving it.
There is no cost involved for your company in utilising our service, it is completely free. We encourage companies to provide an allowance to students during their internship. The expenses for our service are covered by the candidates. If your company would like to cover the service costs for our applicants, that is also an option. Please let us know in that case.
